WISCA Op Shop Coordinator

Part-time | 25 hours per week | includes Saturdays

WISCA is a registered charity. Our purpose is to provide animal welfare services on Waiheke Island and support our community to be responsible pet owners.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Op Shop Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operation of our successful community op shop.

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys retail, values community connection and wants to make a meaningful difference. The income generated through the shop directly supports WISCA’s animal welfare programmes, making the shop an essential part of our charitable work.

About the role

As Op Shop Coordinator, you will oversee the smooth and effective operation of the shop, creating a positive experience for customers, donors, volunteers and staff.

You will work closely with a dedicated team to maximise sales, maintain high operational standards and ensure the shop continues to thrive as a valued community resource.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the daily operation of the WISCA Op Shop

• Drive sales and achieve revenue targets

• Promote the shop through marketing and social media activities

• Maintain efficient systems and operational processes

• Deliver excellent customer and donor experiences

• Recruit, support, and motivate volunteers

• Foster a welcoming, positive, and inclusive team culture

• Ensure the shop is presented to a high standard and reflects WISCA’s values

Skills and experience

• Experience in retail, customer service, or a similar environment

• Previous supervisory or management experience

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• The ability to motivate and support volunteers and staff

• Good organisational and problem-solving skills

• Experience managing budgets, sales targets, or financial performance

• Confidence using social media and promotional tools
