Animal care
We provide welfare and rehoming services for household pets, ducks, geese and roosters.
We can also give financial help for Waiheke animals on a case-by-case basis.
Animal advocate
Heather Reeder is our animal advocate. Heather is available for animal welfare concerns and advice Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Our animal advocate acts as the voice for animals on the island.
They:
microchip pets and register them on the New Zealand Companion Animal Register (NZCAR)
update microchip details
help with pet behavioural issues
help injured pets - assess and refer to a vet where necessary
help match pets with suitable owners
help to rehome your pet if you can no longer look after it
works with volunteers and foster carers
manage the cattery
help socialise cats to prepare them for adoption.
Community education
Our animal advocate also educates the community about responsible pet ownership by:
giving talks to schools and early learning centres
promoting desexing, microchipping and animal welfare standards.
