Community education

Education plays an important role in improving animal welfare across Waiheke Island. By helping people better understand the needs of their pets, we can support healthier, happier animals and stronger connections between pets and their families.

When you welcome an animal into your home, you're making a lifelong commitment. Along with the joy and companionship that pets bring comes the responsibility to provide them with the care, understanding and environment they need to thrive. WISCA's community education programmes are designed to give pet owners the knowledge and confidence to do just that.

WISCA community education programmes

We work alongside local schools, community groups and residents to promote responsible pet ownership and improve animal welfare across Waiheke Island. Through education, outreach and practical support, we're helping to build a community where animals are cared for with kindness, knowledge and respect.

Education events

Our community education events bring people together to learn, ask questions and share knowledge about responsible pet ownership. By empowering pet owners with practical information and expert guidance, we're helping to create a safer, healthier and more compassionate community for Waiheke's animals.
