Building our future home
Our current home in Surfdale has served the animals and community of Waiheke Island for many years. But we have outgrown it, and have a plan to create a modern and permanent ‘forever’ home for our animals and people.
A new purpose-built centre
We have some land in Ostend, and plans for a new purpose-built centre that will provide a safer and more comfortable home for animals in need, more facilities for community assistance and education, and a larger, better-stocked charity Op Shop that will offer a much better shopping experience for our supporters and lovers of bargains.

WISCA Update
Belgium Street Development.
At the moment the WISCA Board is taking a wait and see approach to the Belgium Street development. With rising interest rates, an uncertain economy and higher building and labour costs, moving forward with the project is too big a risk at this time of higher inflation pressures.
Our short-medium term goal now is to pay down the loan on the land so that if and when we decide to build, we are in a much stronger financial position to do so.
